Hello, I’m Dayspring! I am a development and communications leader with over a decade of experience helping nonprofits grow their revenue, communicate their mission, and craft impactful events and collateral.

An empathetic fundraiser passionate about building relationships, I have devoted my career to helping the underprivileged and underserved through nonprofits and the social sector, with a keen interest in gender and racial equity, comprehensive healthcare, and affordable housing. This has included leading development, communications, and events for Planned Parenthood, Catholics for Choice, The Center for Reproductive Rights, the Corporation for National and Community Service, and NeighborWorks America.

Development accomplishments include increasing individual giving by 300%, successful solicitation of six and seven-figure major gifts, engagement of lapsed funders and major donors resulting in six-figure gifts sustaining a 200% increase in #givingtuesday donations each year, surpassing individual giving goals by 140%, and continually creating events that exceed revenue projections while under budget. Successful launch of legacy societies, recurring and mid-level donor programs, and leadership circles. I’ve worked closely with high-profile leaders and celebrities, producing events with Elizabeth Banks, Maya Rudolph, Laverne Cox, and Speaker Emmerita Nancy Pelosi, to name a few.

A native of the great state of Texas, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a degree in Digital Media and Performing Arts. While at SCAD I served as the Promotions Director for the SCAD Radio and Outreach Editor for the school’s news source, hosted a weekly SCAD Radio Drama, and worked on dozens of plays and films. After a decade in Southern California, I relocated to North Carolina to be near family.

When not fighting poverty, I enjoy visiting local museums and theatres, combing through the flea market, interior decorating, and spending quality time with my husband, daughter, and 3 cats.
